Attendance Awareness Contest

Student voice is an important part of Attendance Awareness Month. This contest invites Florida students to share, in their own words and creativity, what they love about coming to school and why showing up matters.

Contest at a Glance

Theme: Show what you love about coming to school
Who can enter: Florida students in grades K–12
Poster contest: Grades K–2, 3–5, 6–8, and 9–12
PSA contest: Grades 6–8 and 9–12
Deadline: September 30, 2026
Winners announced: October 13 at the Consortium’s ConnectED conference
Required: Digital submission and completed parent/guardian media release

Please use a parent/guardian's email when none is available.  This email will be used to notify the winners.

Use of AI

Students may use digital tools for editing, layout, or support, but the final concept, message, and creative work must reflect the student’s own ideas. Fully AI-generated submissions will not be accepted.

I attest that no more than 25% of my physical entry was created using artificial intelligence.

Entry Guidelines All entries must: • Connect to the contest theme. • Use positive, encouraging language. • Be original student work. • Be submitted digitally through the Consortium contest webpage. • Avoid negative, punitive, or blame-based messages. • Avoid copyrighted music, images, characters, logos, or brand names unless the student has permission to use them.

Poster Guidelines

Poster entries may be hand-drawn or created digitally.

Students should not place their name on the front of the poster. Student information should be included only in the submission form.

Submission file requirements are jpeg, png, or pdf only.

Posters should be easy to read and should clearly connect to the theme: Show what you love about coming to school.

PSA Guidelines

PSA entries must be 60 seconds or less.

Students may work individually or as a team*. Videos should be positive, school-friendly, and appropriate for sharing on websites, social media, and at public events.
* Teams can be made up of three students or less.  

Music must be original, royalty-free, or approved for student use. Entries may not include copyrighted songs, images, logos, characters, or video clips unless permission has been granted.

Submissions must be MOV or MP4. The file name must include the students last name and county. Example: Smith-Alachua.mov

For group submissions, the file name should be for the main person submitting the entry.

You can also submit your PSA by sharing a link to your YouTube page, Dropbox folder, or Google folder.  Please make sure the permissions allow anyone with a link to view. 

Please provide the full name (first and last name) and email address for each additional participant to the team.  There should be no more than two additional names in the section.
